“Don’t you have enough lipstick?” – my Dad as we get into the car on the way to the Bite Beauty Lip Lab in Toronto. He clearly does not understand that no, I do not have enough lipsticks and I will ever have enough. I’ve been to Toronto twice since the Bite Beauty Lip Lab opened there and I now have 4 of my own custom lipsticks from them, which is just a start because I know I will be back as soon as I can. My Dad will drop my stepmom and I off there, and then drive away as fast as he can because I turn into a kid in a candy store.

First off, the store itself is stunningly gorgeous and has displays of all of the Bite lip products they have available and you can see this giant counter where you sit and get a custom lipstick made for you. Before you create the lipstick, they let you try out one of their lip scrubs (agave or wild cherry), the agave lip mask (which is also the most moisturizing lip mask/treatment I have ever used), and their primer. Getting to try out all these products is amazing because they are high end products that also have food-grade ingredients and it’s rare that you get to try out products like a lip scrub before you have the chance to buy them. Yes, I ended up buying the agave scrub and agave lip mask (which I would 10/10 recommend by the way).
When I say custom lipsticks, I mean full on unique to you and what you decide in that moment. You get to decide on the shade, finish (sheer, matte, or their amuse bouche formula), and even the scent. The staff are incredibly nice and are so helpful. They also really know their stuff when it comes to lipstick and makeup in general. The most recent time I was there, a guy named Bradlee was helping me out and he was so patient (because let’s be real, getting that perfect unique shade can take some time) when I was deciding on the perfect everyday pinky nude shade for myself. However, when I said I wanted the perfect red for my fair skin tone, he picked the right shade on the first try and I was incredibly impressed. The two shades I ended up with were perfect for me and are definitely going to become two of my top lipstick picks. (Yes, I know my name is spelled wrong in this photo but that's okay, we're gonna roll with it anyway).

The first time I went was back in November and I ended up creating an amazing everyday mauve lipstick as well as a sheer berry shade and have worn those so much since then (especially the mauve shade). I can’t remember the name of the girl who helped me out but she was also so incredibly nice, helpful, and patient. The first time I went, my step mom made an appointment for us because we were not sure how bust it would be, but luckily for us it wasn’t busy because at that point not that many people knew about it. When we went the second time, we went in the middle of a day on a Monday and it was steady but not overly busy which was great because then we had the full attention of the amazing staff. We were told that now if you go on a weekend that there is at least a 2 hour wait if you don’t have an appointment. While I am more than willing to stand in line outside in the cold for 2 hours for the perfect lipstick, not many people are so I would HIGHLY recommend making an appointment or going on a weekday when it’s not as busy. The four custom lipsticks I have are swatched below and all (except for the berry shade - it's a glossy sheer finish) are the matte creme finish.

Right now the Toronto one is the only one in Canada, but more keep opening in the US so hopefully that will happen in Canada soon as well (because this is amazing and I need more). It's $55 CAD for one custom lipstick and $80 CAD for two, which honestly is a great deal considering the quality of the service and lipsticks. If you get the chance to go to a Bite Beauty Lip Lab, I would 1000000% recommend it. It is an amazing experience and you get to leave with amazing products and your own perfect custom lipstick!
