I'm sure I've mentioned it before, but my skin can be an oily acne-filled mess at times. Now I know that doesn't exactly make my face sound that appealing, but it's just how my skin is. Over the years, I have tried so many masks in attempts to make my skin clearer or even just a little less oily. I've tried so many, that I have honestly lost count and don't even remember all of them. These are the the top 5 masks that really stand out to me, ones that I use constantly/have repurchased multiple times, and make my face look less like a greasy pepperoni pizza and more like a human. If you have issues with acne and/or oily skin, definitely check these masks out and hopefully they work for you as well!

GLAMGLOW SUPERMUD

People worship this mask, and honestly I can see why. As it dries, it absorbs all of the excess oil in your skin and helps draw out impurities. Nothing works as amazingly as this for removing all of my blackheads (which I have a lot of). Looking at it as it dries is honestly a bit gross because you can see all of the oil it’s absorbing, but it is also so weirdly satisfying knowing that it’s really helping to clear up your skin.

This mask is really pricy, and I still can’t believe how much it is. But honestly, it is completely worth it. I don’t always use this all over my face as it can be a bit drying. You can use it on your oilier/problem areas (usually nose, t-zone, or chin) for a bit of a more targeted treatment. While this mask costs an arm and a leg, it is completely worth it for how amazingly it clears up your skin. CAD $75 at Sephora for 1.7oz/50g (size in pictures in this post).

BODY SHOP SEAWEED CLAY MASK

Yet another Body Shop skin care product that I love. I’ve gone through multiple containers of this mask and it’s a product that I always need to have on hand. It really helps to absorb the excess oil in my skin without drying it out at the same time (which can be really hard to find in a mask). Not only does it help to control the oiliness in my skin the day I use it, but it also helps make my skin less oily for up to a couple days after I use it so I only need to use it 1-2 times per week to help keep my face less skiny.

The entire seaweed range from the Body Shop is amazing for oily skin, and I consistently use products from it. The products also have a really nice scent to them that isn’t overpowering which is a huge bonus. CAD $24 at The Body Shop.

ORIGINS 10 MINUTE OUT OF TROUBLE MASK

I love Origins skin care products for my oily/acne prone skin. This mask honestly does not

smell the best but it is 1000000% worth it. You leave it on for only 10 minutes and you can actually notice a difference in your skin within a few hours. I will usually use this before I go to bed and I can notice a big difference in my skin the next morning. This mask really helps to calm my breakouts, prevent them from even making an appearance on my skin, and helps destroy what acne I have going on at that time. This mask doesn’t really dry down but that does help in taking it off of your face.

While this mask really helps to clear up my skin, it doesn’t dry it out my skin at all which can sometimes be hard to find in more intensive masks/treatments. This isn’t the most affordable mask, but you don’t need much when you use it and one tube will last a long time which helps to make the cost of it even more worth it. CAD $35 at Sephora

BODY SHOP TEA TREE SLEEPING MASK

It’s no secret that I’m a huge fan of Body Shop skin care, and this mask is no exception. Every time I have a bad breakout or my skin needs some extra help to decongest, I break out this mask. I apply it about 20-30 minutes before I actually go to bed so that it doesn’t make my face stuck to my pillow. It mostly absorbs in that time, however it still can stick to your pillow a little bit. Even though sometimes I can feel my cheeks sticking to my pillow, this mask is more than worth it. No matter how bad my breakouts are before I apply this mask, they are always significantly reduced or gone by the morning. This mask has been such a game changer for my skin and it has become a staple in my skin care routine for when I’m battling bad breakouts. CAD $23 at The Body Shop.

YES TO TOMATOES CHARCOAL MASK

This mask may only come with one use, but it is so affordable that every time I’m at the drugstore, I pick up anywhere from 1 to 10 more of them and feel no shame or regrets. You leave it on for only 5 minutes then wash it off and I swear it’s like it takes your acne with it. This not only helps for pimples or any cystic breakouts I can get, it also helps with the insane amount of blackheads I get in my nose. Whether I use this mask in the morning before I apply makeup or at night before I go to bed, I always notice a difference in my acne within 12 hours of using this mask. When you apply the mask you can feel a bit of a tingling sensation in your skin which is weirdly refreshing. The mask doesn’t fully dry down, but that does help to get it off your face without having to intensely scrub your face with a towel to get it off (I’ve tried some masks that when they dry down, taking them off is a painful struggle).

I cannot recommend this mask enough, and especially with the price you really can’t go wrong. I’ve lost track of how many of these I’ve gone through since I first tried it about a year ago and I will continue to repurchase it so many more times to use when my skin really needs that extra acne-killing boost. CAD $3.47 at Walmart.
