Origins Out of Trouble 10-Minute Mask for Problem Skin

I hadn’t really heard anything about this mask before I tried it, but during the Sephora VIB sale I figured I might as well pick it up and it has quickly become one of my all time fave masks. I’ve been breaking out horribly the past few weeks and this mask helps way more than I thought it would. I use this twice a week before I go to sleep and I notice when I wake up that all of my acne has calmed down and since I started using this my acne has overall calmed down so much and my skin hasn’t looked this clear in months. If you have oily/acne prone skin or even just a horrible breakout, I cannot recommend this mask enough. It doesn’t dry out my skin while also helping get rid of my acne/breakouts and that balance in a mask can be so hard to find. I will continue to use this for months and months to come. $34 CAD at Sephora for the full size and $5 CAD for the small 10ml single use size.

Kate Sommerville Eradi-Kate Spot Treatment

November has been one of the worst months I’ve had for breakouts in a really long time. Other than that Origins mask, it seemed that no matter what I did my breakouts wouldn’t go away and they would keep coming. I had everything from tiny zits to huge painful cystic zits. It was horrible. I’ve been trying for years to find a spot treatment that works quickly and this one works better than any spot treatment I have ever tried. It’s a similar concept to the Mario Basedcu drying lotion where you stick a q-tip through the liquid and into the sediment at the bottom (make sure never to shake the container or else it won’t be as effective) then dab it on whatever pimple is bothering you. For a spot treatment, it’s pretty expensive but it’s completely worth it. $31 CAD at Sephora.

Makeup Forever Mat Velvet + Foundation

I’ve wanted to try this foundation for a long time and when I went to Toronto and forgot my foundation at home, it seemed like the perfect opportunity to pick this foundation up and try it out. This foundation is amazing for my oily skin. It lasts so long without making my face oily and makes my skin look so matte and airbrushed but not cakey. It’s not a very thick formula like most matte foundations I like and I find that helps it apply easier and it doesn’t settle into my pores or any fine lines. I love the finish it gives my skin and that it doesn’t melt off my skin quickly or at all. The bottle doesn’t come with a lot of product (only 30ml) but it will last a long time because you need barely any to give your whole face full coverage. If you have oily skin and struggle to find a matte foundation that actually makes your skin look matte and last a long time, I would recommend giving this one a try. $49 CAD at Sephora.

Anastasia Beverly Hills Trouble Liquid Lipstick

Anastasia Beverly Hills are some of my favourite liquid lipsticks because I find that they last for so long without drying out my lips too much and apply amazingly. This is their holiday shade for this year and I love it. I don’t wear this shade much for everyday wear or at work but it’s perfect for everything else and I’ve been wearing it so much. It’s a perfect fall/winter shade that’s not too dark while also still being something more intense than a regular everyday mauve-nude shade. The swatch doesn't show just how mauve this shade is, it looks more brown in the swatch than it does in person. I would highly recommend picking this shade up before it goes out of stock since it's a limited edition product. $26 CAD at Sephora.

Too Faced Peach Perfect Setting Powder

If you read my Too Faced peach collection review, you would know that I love most of this collection and that I think it is amazing for those with oily skin. This setting powder has been one of my favourites from the collection and I have been using it pretty much everyday I’ve worn makeup since I bought it. It gives my skin an amazing finish and really sets everything in place. My foundation/concealer doesn’t move around during the day when I use this setting powder and even though it isn’t completely translucent, the shade still works for my very fair skin tone which I have struggled with a lot in the past. A huge bonus of this product is the smell of it, it has that peach scent that the rest of the collection has. I haven’t used this product for baking so I’m not sure what it’s like for that, but it’s great for all over setting. $40 CAD at Sephora.
