Huda Beauty Faux Filter Foundation...YEAH or NAH?

When it comes to foundation, I want to get all of the coverage I can get most days. I’ve seen so many posts, reviews, videos, etc. about this foundation and I’ve been wanting to try it for so long. When it comes to ordering a new foundation online, not once have I ordered the correct shade. I was able to finally find this foundation in a store and I’ve been using it pretty much everyday since.

The shade I found actually matches me amazingly, 100B Milkshake (which is really rare for me). When they called this foundation a “high-coverage foundation”, they were not joking at all. This covers all of my acne, dark circles under my eyes, all while without emphasizing my pores. So many high coverage foundations cover everything but they look really cakey and don’t last long on the skin. I’ve found that this one covers everything and actually looks normal on my skin. I’m so impressed with how it covers everything all without being too heavy or intense.

I only use one pump of this foundation and it covers my entire face perfectly. Whenever I reach for this foundation (which has been most days since I purchased it), I’ve been applying it with a damp beauty blender and it blends into the skin amazingly without being streaky or cakey. I have used brushes to apply it as well and they work, however I’ve found that applying it with a damp beauty blender works best.

A problem I often have with “long-lasting/high-coverage” foundations is that they actually don’t last that long and rub off really quickly as well as melt off of my oily areas within only a few hours (usually foundation on my nose is the first to go). I was so surprised to see that throughout the day when I wear this foundation that it didn’t melt off really quickly or come off on someone’s shirt if I gave them a hug (I’m very short and give a lot of hugs so this can be a huge problem for me, and for the clothes those I hug). No matter what primers, setting powders, or setting sprays I use, this foundation will last and stay put for hours and hours on end.

Yes, this foundation is a little pricy ($52 CAD) but it is honestly worth it. You only need one pump which means that this 35mL bottle will last for so long. Not only is the packaging for this foundation so sleek and beautiful, but it is also so durable so it won’t shatter and make a giant mess if you drop it. A huge bonus to this foundation is that there are so many shades in this foundation so you are bound to find one that works for your skin tone. I’m not sure what this foundation would be like for those with pretty dry skin since I’m super oily, but if you have normal, combination, or oily skin, I think that you should check this foundation out. As with any foundation, I would recommend checking in out in stores to make sure you get the right shade for you. However, if you can’t find it in your local Sephora (or don’t have one near you), there’s tons of swatches and shade comparisons online. I’m now a huge fan of this foundation and I know that I will continue to use it. So is this foundation a YEAH or a NAH?? Definitely a huge YEAH!
