Physicians Formula Butter Highlighters...YEAH or NAH?

It’s no secret how amazing the Physicians Formula butter bronzers are and how much I love the lightest shade of it. To be honest, their butter blushes didn’t wow or amaze me, but I do still continue to use them if I want a subtler hint of colour to my cheeks. All this being said, I was excited when I found out they were coming out with butter highlighters. I had assumed there would be only one or two shades but they ended up coming out with four. When I saw them at the drugstore, I immediately ran over to them and basically threw myself at the display (I really wish I was joking, it was a too intense of a reaction for the moment but hey, it’s rare we get drugstore makeup in Canada at the same time as the US so I was excited). Luckily both myself and the lady I accidentally body-checked out of my way walked away unharmed and I left clutching three new highlights I couldn’t wait to throw on my face. There are five shades of these highlighters, I bough the shades Pink, Champagne, and Pearl. Rose Gold seemed like it would be too dark for my skin tone and Iridescent was out of stock.

First thing I noticed about these highlights was that they have the same delicious coconut scent that both the butter bronzers and butter blushes have. I love that scent so we were off to a good start. In swatching them I noticed that they are so incredibly buttery and smooth but also very pigmented. Over a couple weeks I did try out all three that I had and found that the shades Pink and Champagne were great for everyday use whereas Pearl was a bit more intense and was perfect for a more powerful look. Champagne is more gold than I had expected but still looks like a more natural yet glowy highlight. Pink is exactly as the name says, a pink highlighter that has the perfect amount of shimmer and looks natural yet glowy. Pearl is a pearly shimmer that has a hint of pink duochrome to it. this shade isn't really a natural glowy highlight, more of intense one for when you want your cheekbones to be the first thing anyone would notice.
You don’t need a lot of this product for it to show up and really be pigmented and it is also very easy to blend so that you don’t have a random weirdly sharp line of highlighter. They last on my skin all day and keep the same intensity as when I first apply them, which is something I honestly struggle to find in drugstore highlighters.

Weirdly, I haven’t actually been able to find these highlighters anywhere (except physician formulas website or amazon). I do want to try the shade Iridescent for when I want a super intense and unique highlight, so if anyone knows where I can find that one in stores, let me know please! These highlights are $10.95 CAD each on amazon, which I think is a pretty good price for a drugstore highlight in Canada. If you only want one, I would suggest Champagne or Pink (depending on weather you prefer more golden or pink highlights). Overall, I did like these highlighters and would say they are definitely a YEAH.
