L'Oreal Infallible Total Cover Foundation Review

I’m not sure why it took me so long to get around to trying this foundation, but I’m happy I finally did. I’ve tried this foundation out for about a week now and it is not lying about the total coverage. Conveniently I had a giant breakout this week that could not be tamed by colour correcting and concealer so ended up being the perfect time to test the full coverage claims. Putting this foundation on top of that completely covered up all those bright red pimples and even helped to conceal my giant and dark under eye circles. My first impression of it was that the coverage was so flawless and 100% lives up to the full coverage claims.

The consistency of this foundation is different than anything I’ve ever used before, it’s a very thick formula and is also a mousse-like texture, which is something I’ve never tried before with a foundation. I’ve found that the best way to apply this foundation (or I guess any foundation with this texture) was with a damp sponge, I mostly used my real techniques sponge, because it made it a lot easier to blend out without making it look cakey. This foundation lasts for so long too. I don’t know if it would last for 24 hours because I don’t wear foundation for that long (unless I fall asleep without taking off my makeup) but I’ve had no problem with the lasting power of this yet which is great because most of the foundations I have used often start to melt off after a few hours because I have very oily skin.

The second time I wore this foundation, I wore it to work and ended up wearing it for about 8 hours. My friend Summer kept commenting on how good the coverage was and how matte/non oily my face looked. I ended up wearing it every day for a week and everyday it lasted all day with only having to blot/powder my t-zone on one day that was my 12-hour long work day. I was incredibly impressed at how long this foundation lasts on my skin while taming my normally out of control oily-ness.

One problem I have with this foundation is that the lightest colour I could find (301 classic ivory) is still a little too dark for me which does suck a little but it’s something I can easily get over because then I don’t look as pale as the snow. It can definitely be easy to make this foundation too cakey, using the right primer and right applicator make a world of difference with this foundation.

Overall, I fully recommend this foundation. The coverage is amazing and lasts for such a long time. I personally wouldn’t use this for everyday use, but will be using it on any day I need that extra coverage. For $19.99 it’s pretty amazing. Pretty much $20 does seem like a little much for a drugstore foundation, but it is honestly so worth it and this has become my go-to full coverage foundation and I will be grabbing it every time my face needs that extra coverage to hide those zits that refuse to be concealed.
